Heat Guide

Not all heat is created equal. At D’s Pepper Sauce, we focus on flavor first — but every sauce brings its own level of fire. Below is a general Scoville heat reference, paired with our simple 1–5 pepper rating system to help you find your perfect heat level. Note: What the internet doesnt tell you is, every recipe is different. Superhot peppers arent always a death sentence. Paired with the right seasonings or mix, they can be extremely tamed. Below is the scale for the heat levels displayed by number of peppers on our sauces.

๐ŸŒถ Mild (1 Pepper)

Light heat focused on flavor. Easy to enjoy on anything — adds warmth without overpowering. Roughly aligns with the lower end of the Scoville scale.

๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ Medium (2 Peppers)

A noticeable kick with balanced flavor. You’ll feel the heat, but it stays smooth and enjoyable.

๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ Hot (3 Peppers)

Solid heat for spice lovers. This level starts to match peppers like jalapeรฑo to habanero range.

๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ Very Hot (4 Peppers)

Intense heat that builds and lingers. Comparable to the upper Scoville ranges — not for beginners.

๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ Extreme (5 Peppers)

Maximum heat. This is where things get serious — ghost peppers, reapers, and beyond. Use sparingly and at your own risk.
